Hi Frank,
Here is another cleaning product that might be of interest to people and can be found here: http://erinely.mionegroup.com/product/16301

MiEnviron BioPure

BioPure: Probiotic Household Cleaning Concentrate (General Purpose)
All natural and organic household and industrial cleaner, highly concentrated, breaks down grease, grime and dirt, powerful probiotic bacteria, antioxidants and enzymes, sublime vanilla aroma.

BioPure is a highly concentrated, all natural household and industrial cleaner containing powerful probiotic bacteria, antioxidants and enzymes that break down grease, grime and dirt and neutralize odors. BioPure means cleaning without chemicals; it's living benefits continue to work even after the initial application.

Cleaning with Good Bacteria
The probiotic properties of BioPure ensure it is eminently safe for humans and the environment. It is uniquely effective as a surface active agent to ionize and digest organic matter for surface cleaning and odor reduction. It can be used safely in septic systems and is fully biodegradable. BioPure can be used as a general purpose household cleaner for floors, kitchen surfaces, mould and mildew area, and bathrooms. BioPure is a probiotic cleaning liquid and works differently to anti-bacterial products, which attempt to kill bad bacteria. BioPure utilizes beneficial bacteria so they can dominate harmful, disease-causing (pathogenic) bacteria. This creates a natural, healthy and clean environment. When used consistently, BiPure prevents the re-emergence of pathogenic bacteria.

Ingredients:
Purified and structured water, organic sugar cane molasses, lactobacillus cultures, organic mineral powder, sea salt, organic rice bran, vanilla extract.

I've used the Mountain Green Clothes Softener and there is something about it that is very different from your major brand softeners. Mountain Green leaves my clothes smelling better and it seems they stay fresher longer. I highly recommended Mountain Green.

Dear Frank,

I just happened to find your site via ecofabulous.com. I love the work that you are doing and the valuable information that you are working diligently to provide. I have been teaching individuals how to replace their household cleaning solutions with natural alternatives for the past 10 years. I wanted to share some information with you and fellow environmentalists.

Natures Own Cleaning Solution:
What would you do with 15 million pounds of orange peels? How about 50 million pounds of pine chips? Would you: send it to a landfill; burn it for fuel or crush and distill it into a highly effective cleaning solvent? If you thought of the last option then you will come to understand how terpenes are natures own cleaning solution.

100% All Natural:
Terpenes are derived from plant sources such as oranges, grapefruit, eucalyptus and peppermint just to list a few. The most common ingredient in terpene cleaners is d-Limonene, a derivative of orange peels.

Eliminate and Reduce your need for Chemicals:
If you are truly an environmentalist then you will love using this product! This provides a way for you to reduce, reuse and recycle. One problem with prepackaged cleaning solutions is the amount of wasted generated from the need to buy 3 or more types of cleaning products. Terpenes are offer a clear alternative, with just one ingredient you can replace every household product that you buy. It is eco-friendly and economical! I would be happy to send you a sample.

Be well,

Most of these products are very expensive. I use strictly Vinegar, which is very inexpensive & eats up odor in the home & is non-toxic

Gold Canyon is also marketing a new line of cleaning products that may interest you. Not only are they better for you and the environment, but they smell good too.

The product will be available May 1st. If anyone has questions please feel free to email me at hjuleen@yahoo.com

Thanks

Here's a document about how to make your own cleaning products:
www.arc.govt.nz/albany/fms/main/Documents/Auckland/The%20big%20clean%20up/Healthy%20Alternatives%20to%20Household%20Chemicals%20brochure.pdf

I mainly use vinegar in a spraybottle and baking soda in a shaker.
I've found the Enjo bathroom glove to be fantastic. It has fibres for giving a decent clean on one side that will take off all kinds of soap scum etc, and softer fibres on the other side for giving a bit of a polish, so you don't need any added chemical cleaners at all.
Enjo website: http://www.enjo.com.au/

Also, I've recently discovered soapnuts. They're great because you can use them in the dishwasher and the washing machine and they last for multiple washes. The document on making your own cleaning products linked above doesn't have a recipe for dishwasher powder/liquid, and the washing machine liquid contains soap flakes, so if you use a cold wash (for environmental reasons!) the flakes reconstitute all over your clothes!

Hope this helps - sorry about all the NZ + Oz links :)

Thank you for this super list and info. We have a guest ranch and I'm tired of cleaning with bleach, but need to have things very clean. I knew there would be great alternatives out there, and thank you all for sharing this info. I'll be a healthier cabin cleaner, and my guests I am certain will appreciate the healthier environment.
