My friend Steven A. has been working on the really cool (and ambitious) project Here is an email I received from Steven:
I want to share a video we just completed for a very exciting project. We're working with Shai Agassi to create the brand that finally makes the promise of electric vehicles a reality. The vision is to create a networked infrastructure that bundles a wide choice of car models with the clean energy that powers them. Currently, the initiative is code-named Project Better Place and will soon be launched abroad. You can follow the creation of this important project as we move toward the launch of a new global consumer brand in the future. Until then, we're looking to build grassroots support and dialogue at http://www.projectbetterplace.com.
The vision began at the World Economic Forum in Davos last year. At the conference, they posed the question: What are you going to do to make the world a better place? That inspired Shai Agassi to follow a calling, leaving one of the top posts at SAP. Based on a business plan that pulls a page from the cell phone model (bundled hardware and network), Shai set out to disrupt a multi-trillion dollar industry.
From the question posed at Davos, Sergey and Larry from Google decided to ask its YouTube community the same question. Between now and January 21st, people are posting videos on YouTube answering the "Davos Question." Well, here's our answer. We'd love for you to view the 3-minute video, rate it (you'll have to create a YouTube account to rate videos), comment on it, and send it to friends. I was fortunate to work with the filmmaker (and my cousin), Michael Addis, on this short video (not to mention the joy of working with our kids).
We're excited to be partnering with Shai and his team to build a brand that will have such an impact on the world.
